ChatMirror is a browser extension that opens a saved ChatGPT conversation selected by the user in a local, read-only reader with pagination, search, focus navigation, print, and user-initiated export.
ChatMirror may access information from the saved ChatGPT conversation selected by the user, including:
ChatMirror does not intentionally access unrelated browsing history, passwords, payment information, cookies, or authentication tokens.
ChatMirror stores normalized reader sessions locally in the browser using IndexedDB under the extension’s own origin.
It also stores one reader-interface preference locally.
Reader sessions are pruned when a new session is saved if they are older than 30 days or fall outside the newest 50 sessions. Data may remain until a later save triggers pruning.
Users can delete locally stored ChatMirror data by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension’s site data through browser settings.
ChatMirror does not transmit conversation content or stored reader sessions to the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, or a developer-operated server.
ChatMirror observes requests already made by ChatGPT. When a newly created saved conversation is detected, it may make one additional authenticated same-origin request to chatgpt.com to retrieve that conversation. This sends the conversation ID only to ChatGPT/OpenAI, which already hosts the conversation.
Remote attachment preview URLs are not requested.
Markdown, plain-text, and JSON exports are created only when requested by the user and are downloaded locally.
The Print / Save as PDF option uses the browser’s local print workflow.
ChatMirror does not use analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, advertising, or behavioral profiling.
ChatMirror does not sell, rent, or share user data with the developer, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
ChatMirror does not provide its own account system. It relies on the user already being signed in to ChatGPT.
The extension does not directly read, store, or transmit passwords, cookies, session tokens, or OAuth credentials.
ChatMirror operates on chatgpt.com. ChatGPT and OpenAI are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
ChatMirror is an independent extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
This policy may be updated when ChatMirror’s functionality or data-handling practices change. The latest version will remain available at this URL.
